Baseball Players Shouldn’t Be Afraid of Training Supplements
Steroids are a dark mark on the legacy of baseball. By no means is baseball the only sport that has been infected with the disease of performance enhancing drugs. Sprinters have tested positive long before any baseball players were even thought to have been using steroids. Professional football locker rooms have been infected with all manner of performance enhancing drugs since the late 1970’s. What hurt baseball more was the way that steroids were brought to light, and how players continue to be exposed as performance enhancing drug users.
Baseball in the mid nineties seemed to be forgotten. After a long and painful labor dispute a large portion of baseball’s fan base were turned off. Attendance and television ratings were way down and it appeared that baseball might fall to the level of NHL hockey. Yet, there is something that brought fans back in large numbers. The home run. The most exciting play in baseball. Nothing is more exciting than seeing a hitter crush a long fly ball which screams over the outfield fence. During the late 1990’s the home run was back, and the fans were watching. Legendary home run records were being broken, and the ultimate home run mark, of 715 held by Hank Aaron and once by Ruth, was being approached and challenged. The problem is that baseball came back and is now once again popular due to performance enhancing drugs. Baseball, in a way, owes the illegal narcotic for its success.

Jordan Shoes a Popular Choice
Just the word ‘Jordan’ invokes in us a spirit of competitiveness and perfection. It doesn’t matter what you do, whether at work, studying or helping at home, you want to do excellently. Just like Jordan on the court. You want to work hard, do your best and lastly shine in your work. This is what wearing Jordan shoes are all about. This is the attitude that most people have when picking these shoes.
Jordan shoes are so well-known that everybody has heard about them. This especially holds true for athletes and people who like sports and the outdoors. They are by far one of the most popular choices when it comes to purchasing a pair of sport shoes. But it doesn’t stop there. One might even venture to buy them just for the sake of the image they want to portray to others or to show their support for basketball and their respect for Michael Jordan himself.
NFL- Vikings Don’t Want Favre Anymore
Brett Favre announced aE” once again aE” that he will not be playing football. The Minnesota Vikings, who had waited for his decision for several months, claim that they are no longer interested in Favre, even if he decides to play again. The Vikings, and in particular Vikings coach Brad Childress, had been in a rush to hear Favre’s decision; since the star quarterback gave the negative, however, the team has decided to move on.
In response to Favre’s announcement, Childress said on Wednesday that the Vikings will have to move forward, and that he is very pleased with the job that Tarvaris Jackson and Sage Rosenfels are doing in the position the Vikings first offered to Favre months ago. In fact, Jackson was the first player to report to training camp at the Minnesota State University campus, although neither he, nor any of the other players, was available for an interview since the team was moving to the campus for several weeks before the start of the season. Favre’s agent, Bus Cooke, gave a statement to the Associate Press saying that he thinks that Favre made the right decision when he said his football days were over. He further backed Favre by saying that his client’s physical condition was not at its peak aE” Favre isn’t in the same condition he was 10 years ago. “He’s really tried and worked hard, but every day his body was telling him, ‘Look, you’ve still got the arm. It’s the rest of me that’s telling you to rethink your situation,’” Cook said. “He said, ‘Look, I don’t want to go through it no more. Right now I’m just not of a mindset to go up there and go through this and that. I don’t want to get to the middle of the season and look around and wonder what I’ve gotten myself into here.aE T
Soccer – Mexico Loses Against Honduras in the World Cup Qualifiers
The team that looked very confident and pleased after a victory in the Estadio Azteca last Saturday against Costa Rica, was not the same team that played yesterday in the Olympic Stadium against Honduras, who lost 3-1 in a very humiliating way, showing that Mexico is a very weak team and that something is missing; they have the players and the capacity but they are not getting to a level of good effectiveness that can make them win games away from home. With the face that Mexico showed back on Saturday they became favorites to win over Honduras, especially after those actually had a hard time in Port of Spain against Trinidad & Tobago over the weekend, finishing with a draw 1-1 at the end.
The big question here is what is going bad in the Mexican squad? Most of the people are saying that the coach Sven Goran-Eriksson is not good enough to handle a team like Mexico. While the team hasn’t been able to win outside home, the Mexican Football Federation said that Eriksson would be out of the team if was not able to win at home against Costa Rica, but since they did, he remained in the position. However, yesterday morning he had a meeting with the Mexican Federation of Football where he was announced that those, along with the Committee of Nationals Teams, had taken the decision of dismiss him as Mexico’s coach.

Ncaa Football- Mack Brown Ups His Annual to $5 Million
This season has been very productive for Texas coach Mack Brown, who just made it to the BCS championship for second consecutive year and that had its positive consequences. Texas has upped Brown’s previous contract an additional $2 million per year for a total of $5 million per season. This only goes to prove that positive results positively effects earnings. Texas also decided to make the adjustment effective early in 2010 and give him the extra $2 million. Coach Mack also will get an extra bonus of $450.000 if he beats Alabama on January 7th. The length on his contract however didn’t change and it’s until 2016. Right now Brown is considered one of the best college football coaches in the country, winning the Big 12 conference championship title. He has been developing the team into a solid program. Currently Texas has one of the best football programs in the country. Since he was brought to Texas, the team has accomplished many good things and it is unlikely that he will retire any time soon. “Mack is the best college football coach in America and this action recognizes him for that,” Texas athletic director DeLoss Dodds said. “He brought new life to our program and he’s done it with great integrity and class. He is who we want at Texas for as long as he is willing to serve as our head coach.” And the way he’s going, that will be for a long time.
