Espn College Football Picks-Win Betting on Sports Today!

Football is a sport deeply embedded in American sporting culture. I am not referring to soccer ofcourse. What I am referring to is American Football. It has continually influence the lives of many insofar as their sporting lives are concerned. This is so since football is a very fascinating game. It is fast moving, fun and sometimes painful to watch, especially when players tackle each other. And while some may refer to it as a bit rough, it nevertheless has some grace to it, which if appreciated in the right manner, might seem polished. To say however that it is as graceful as ballet for example, would be pushing it.

American football is a tough sport. This is characterized by the sport in that, to be an effective football player, one should have the right size so that they may be able to compete properly with other players. This is not to say ofcourse that all football players are huge. There are also a few exceptions. And one of them is Doug Flutie. This rather short man, having American Football as basis, grew to be one of the greatest quarterbacks in football. But the highlight of his career was when he was in college.

How American College Football Elevated To Pro

In the early 19th century, some students at Princeton played a game that was known as “ballown,” where they used their fists and their feet to advance the ball. During that time, there were no hard and fast established rules; the goal was simply to advance the ball past the opposing team. At Harvard, freshmen and sophomores competed in a game that was called “Bloody Monday,” a football-like game that was played on the first Monday of every school year. Around 1860, the game soon caught popularity among the Boston Common and had several variations.

The First Intercollegiate Football Game

Around 1865, colleges began organizing football games, which still did not have clearly instituted rules and gameplay. Princeton established some rudimentary rules some time in 1867 and in that year, American football was patented for the first time. In addition to Princeton’s rules, Rutgers College contributed a set of rules in that same year. In November 6, 1869, Princeton and Rutgers, combining their set of rules, played the first intercollegiate football. Rutgers won six goals to four.

Well, the history of football is as interesting and suspicious as the game itself where situation can be changed at any time. Just like any other game there are different theories and different claims with this game as well, but consensus seems to be in the favor of 19thy century when football was established as a game as it is being played in the modern days. The origins of different ball games can be found in almost every civilization. Even in the modern world football, rugby, soccer etc. are some of the famous ball games. Even as of today, perhaps football is the most famous game that is played throughout the world.

It is also debated that history of football dates back to as early as 1800 BC when a famous ball game was played by Egyptian people. Some other people are of the opinion that ball games were also played in Ancient China as early as 2500 BC. Similar claims can be found in some other civilizations and countries such as Greek, Romans etc. No matter what game was played and in what form, but it wasn’t until the late 19th century when this game took the current shape. All other ball games could be considered as the forerunners to the modern day football game.

Discussing the Business of Sumo Wrestling

Sumo Wrestling is a popular competitive contact sport in Japan where a wrestler attempts to force his opponent either out of a circular ring, called the “dohyo”, or to touch the ground inside the “dohyo” with anything other than the soles of the feet. Japan is the only country where the sport is practiced professionally because Sumo is essentially a sport of deep and ancient Japanese traditions, where there are many rituals and rules that need to be strictly followed and obeyed.

Beyond its strict traditions, Sumo Wrestling is still a sport just like American football, where professionals can make a living from. Here, we’ll take a closer look at the business of the sport, specifically how it is organized, how profits are made through events and competitions, and how much money professional sumo wrestlers are making.

Organization

Also known as the Nihon Sumo Kyokai, the Japan Sumo Association (JSA) serves as the governing body of professional sumo wrestling. The members of JSA are former wrestlers, and they are the only people allowed to train new wrestlers. Wrestlers from foreign countries are very much welcomed to compete, but all professional competitions must take place only in Japanese soil.
